Salisbury Post, October 23, 2006, Opinion

Again this year the Rowan Blues and Jazz Festival was a big success. I would like to thank all of the business owners and individuals who supported the annual festival.

This festival could not have been a free public event without Team Chevrolet-Cadillac, F &M Bank, the Friends of the Blues and Jazz Society, patrons and many other kindnesses.

Thank you, Salisbury Post, for your coverage, encouraging the growth of this festival and the use of your parking lot.

Special thanks to the newly formed festival committee, this year consisting of Gail Gorman, Rosalee Hart-Morrison and William Patterson III. Their time and effort assisting the festival were invaluable.

This American, homegrown art form was presented by gifted and talented musicians of all ages. They were selected to teach as well as perform varied types of blues and jazz music.

Next year, we -- the Rowan Blues and Jazz Society -- look forward to continuing the eight-year tradition by presenting another quality festival.
